Western School
Western School was one of the leading independent,
co-educational day schools for pre-school through eighth
grade in North Lauderdale, Florida, in the greater Ft.
Lauderdale area. In March 1998, Western School was
acquired by Nobel Learning Communities, Inc. (OTC:NLCI)
(formerly Nobel Education Dynamics).
Founded in 1979 by Murray and Leslie
Simon,
Western School has consistently increased its enrollment
every year and had approximately 430 students and the
finest facilities, programs, faculty and staff of any
school of its type in the region. It has also developed
a day camp program with approximately 600 campers per session in
1997 that fully utilized its facilities year around and
enhances its already excellent profitability.
Western prided itself on providing its students a
traditional curriculum enriched with a broad range of
learning experiences and activities including computer
science, the arts and Spanish. All this is offered in a
safe and
secure
environment that encourages individual and family
values, qualities and goals. Western was committed to
providing a well-rounded education that prepares each
student, academically and socially, to be a responsible,
creative, self-motivated and thoughtful individual.
